Last updated: 16 October 2026

This policy explains how Welsh Valley Web ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website or deal with us as a customer. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handle your information in line with UK data protection law.

Who we are

Welsh Valley Web is a sole trader business run by Luke Langridge. We are the "controller" of the information described in this policy.

  • Address: Errigal House, Bryn Deri, Ebbw Vale, NP23 6DG, United Kingdom

  • Email: luke@welshvalleyweb.com

What information we collect

When you contact us. If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message.

When you start a project with us. If you complete our project form, we collect your name and email address, the type of project, your answers to our questions about it, any extra details you add, and your desired launch time and budget range.

When you become a customer. We keep the details needed to provide our services and to invoice you, such as your name, business name, contact details, the services you buy and your payment history. We do not store your full card details.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. If you accept optional cookies, Google Analytics also collects information about how you use the site, such as the pages you view, the device you use and your approximate location. See our Cookie Policy for details.

How we use your information, and why

We only use your information when we have a lawful reason to:

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote (taking steps at your request before entering a contract).

  • To provide our services and manage your account, including building, hosting and supporting your website, and invoicing you (performing a contract).

  • To keep our website secure and running well, and to run our business (our legitimate interests).

  • To understand how our website is used and improve it, using Google Analytics (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

  • To keep accounting and tax records (a legal obligation).

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for marketing unless you have told us you want to hear from us.

Who we share your information with

We only share information with organisations that help us run the website and our services, and only as much as they need:

  • Laravel Forge, which we use to manage our servers, and the cloud company whose data centres those servers run in, which together host this website and its data.

  • Resend, which delivers the emails our website sends, such as replies to your enquiry.

  • Google, for website statistics through Google Analytics, but only if you accept optional cookies.

  • Our professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, and authorities such as HMRC where the law requires it.

Where we host a customer's website, the personal information collected through that website belongs to our customer. We look after it on their behalf under the terms in our Terms & Conditions.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of the organisations above, such as Google and Resend, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised by UK law, such as the UK's approved data transfer arrangements and standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your information

  • Enquiries and project forms that do not lead to work: up to 6 months, then deleted.

  • Customer records and invoices: for as long as you are a customer, then 6 years to meet accounting and tax requirements.

  • Website statistics: for the period set in our Google Analytics account, currently 14 months.

  • Server logs: 30 days.

How we keep your information safe

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure connections (HTTPS), restricted access to our systems and regular backups. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and act quickly if something goes wrong.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;

  • ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances;

  • ask us to restrict how we use your information, or to object to certain uses;

  • ask for your information in a portable format, where it applies;

  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it (for example, for analytics cookies), without affecting what we did before.

To use any of these rights, email us at luke@welshvalleyweb.com. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

Our website and services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed standard for responding to it, so we do not currently respond to those signals. You can control optional cookies using our cookie banner, which you can reopen from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. We will always publish the current version on this page.
